An Offaly woman who was found to be driving without insurance and without required learner L plates on her car was disqualified from driving and fined €1,000 at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday last.
Before Judge Andrew Cody was Ella Guinan (24) with an address at 5 Glenard, Mountbolas, Co Offaly.
Garda Mills from Tullamore Garda Station told the court that on February 17 of this year he stopped the defendant driving a BMW car at 5.30pm on the Arden Road in Tullamore.
Garda Mills spoke to the driver and requested her driving licence. The defendant produced a learner permit and the front seat passenger in the car was a novice driver.

Garda Mills inspected the vehicle and saw no learner L plates and demanded the driver's insurance, which was not available.
Garda Mills asked the defendant to produce her insurance documents within 10 days at a Garda Station of her choosing and she nominated Tullamore Garda Station, but failed to produce the documents.
A fixed charge penalty notice was issued for driving unaccompanied and non display of learner L plates and was not paid. The defendant has no previous convictions.

For no insurance Judge Cody fined the defendant €750 with six months to pay and disqualified her from driving for two years and took the failure to produce into consideration and for driving without learner L plates Judge Cody fined the defendant €250 with six months to pay and took the charge of driving unaccompanied into consideration.
