BALLYSKENACH Drama Group return to the stage of the Citeaux Hall (E53 AE02) in
Ballyskenach from Thursday February 26th to Saturday February 28th at 8pm each evening.
Over the years, since they reformed in 2007, they have produced some of the Irish greats including, The Field, Sive and Big Maggie, to name but a few. The cast has remained consistent for many years now and they welcome a couple of returning members while others have a well earned break!

However, this year is the turn of Sam Cree's hilarious comedy – Widows Paradise. Over the past three decades Ballyskenach Drama Group have welcomed thousands to the Citeaux Hall, never leaving the loyal crowds disappointed and this year will be no different! They sincerely thank all those who travel near and far to support them annually and to all their generous sponsors and patrons for their continued support annually, without all these efforts the production would not go ahead. After months of rehearsing and digesting the scripts they are ready for the stage!

Widows’ Paradise takes place in a ‘luxury’ caravan, with five ladies embarking on a ‘strictly women only’ holiday in the tranquil Donegal countryside.

The holiday is thrown into disarray with a case of ‘mistaken caravan identity’ and the arrival of no-nonsense, alpha-male Harry and four other men. So what was supposed to be a scene of peace and restfulness turns into a riotous clash of the sexes, each with their own story to tell…Widows’ Paradise is ‘action-packed’ and guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat and in tears of laughter until the final curtain call.

The cast includes Betty Murphy as Ruby, Carmel Bergin as Sylvia, Orlaith Middleton as Vanessa, Sally Carney as Rachel, Mairead King as Lucy, Gerry McAulliffe as Ernie, Paddy Delaney as Harry, Fergal Keeshan as Alan, John Doherty as Wilfred and Jim Bolger as John.
The production will begin at 8pm sharp each evening however, booking is essential
please call/ whatsapp (087) 710 7307 to secure your seat. There will be a raffle on the night and refreshments served afterwards. Proceeds on the night will go to local causes.
