Busy street in Offaly to be closed for two days to allow for resurfacing works

A road closure and detour will be in place for the duration of the works

Offaly County Council have announced that Cormac Street in Tullamore is set to be closed for two days next week. 

The busy road will be closed to vehicular traffic on Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27 from 7:30am to 17:00pm each day. 

The road closure on R421 Cormac Street will be in place in order to facilitate resurfacing works which are expected to be finished over the course of the two days. 

The council issued a notice of the decision to temporarily close the road in accordance with section 75 of the Roads Act 1993 and part 8 of the Road Regulations 1994.

A road closure and detour will be in place for the duration of the works. However, Local access to households and properties will be maintained at all times under the traffic management arrangements. 

Road users are being warned to expect delays locally throughout the period of the works being carried out. 

A spokesperson for Offaly County Council say they regret any inconvenience that will be caused for road users during the duration of the closure.
