Offaly woman fined €1,000 for a number of road traffic offences

A MOUNTBOLUS motorist, Ella Guinan, 5 Glenard, Mountbolus, Tullamore pleaded guilty to a number of road traffic offences during last week's district court sitting.

Ms Guinan was stopped by Garda Alan Mills on May 17 on Arden Road, Tullamore and charged with no insurance, being a provisional learner driver and not displaying L plates and being unaccompanied by a qualified driver.

The defending solicitor Aisling Maloney told the court that her client needs the car to bring her child to school. She had no previous convictions.

Judge Andrew Cody convicted and fined €750 for no insurance and €250 for non display of L plates.

He took the other summonses into consideration.
