Mark Lyndon is a popular folk singer.
BIRR duo Mark Lyndon and Nicky Larkin are going to put on an evening of high quality entertainment, showcasing their considerable talent in their respective fields.
The show will be taking place in Birr Theatre on Friday March 13th and will feature a programme of original Irish film and music by the two men who have been described as “currently making waves in their respective fields.”
Filmmaker Nicky Larkin will present screenings of “Sumoland” and his IFTA nominated film “Punt”. Following this there will be a live “pre-release” performance by folk singer/songwriter Mark Lyndon of his debut album “Silhouettes”, which is a collection of original folk music based on stories collected in the Blackwater Valley.
Nicky and Mark are first cousins. Mark has been writing scores for Nicky’s films for over ten years, including the films “The Iron Man”, which was screened in Birr Theatre and had a successful film festival life, and “Too shall pass”, which featured fellow Birr native Peter Campion.
Silhouettes is Nicky's debut album. It contains a number of songs which Mark has already successfully released as Singles including “The Last 35”, “Buckley’s Folly” and “First Light.” It also contains the song “Nocturne” which appears in “Punt”.
Silhouettes will be officially launched in late Spring/early Summer and will be for sale on Mark's website www.marklyndonmusic.com from then. The doors open on March 13 in Birr Theatre at 7.30pm.
