Explore the Slieve Bloom Way and Orange Hill with Roscrea's hiking club

Members of the Roscrea Trailblazers hiking club

Roscrea Trail Blazers had a very busy 2025 with trips to Madeira, the UK and numerous hikes around Ireland and 2026 is shaping up to be every bit as busy with trips to Austria, Snowdon, island trips, charity walks and numerous challenge walks to be completed.

On last Friday (January 23rd) the Roscrea hiking club had a very enjoyable walk around a section of the Lough Boora Parklands. It was a cold, dry night for walking and despite the forecast for light rain, it never materialised. Well, done to everyone that made the effort.

Their walk this Friday night (January 30th) sees the club keeping it local with a walk around the Golden Grove/Orange Hill Loop.

Distance: 6.5 km, Grade: Easy, Time: 1.5 hours. Meeting at Dromakeenan Carpark at 7pm. Please bring head/hand torch.

They have the next section of the Slieve Bloom Way from Clonaslee to Cadamstown on Sunday February 8th and their Burren weekend away on the weekend of February 20th.

They would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below.
