Roscrea's St Cronan’s Association CLG hosted its second annual Christmas Fair on Wednesday last, welcoming an enthusiastic crowd of families, friends, neighbours, and supporters to a day filled with festive cheer and community spirit.
From 11am onward, the building was alive with music, carols, and the warm buzz of conversation as visitors explored beautifully presented craft stalls, homemade bakes, decorations, and seasonal gifts created by service users, staff, and volunteers.
The atmosphere was joyful and relaxed, with many commenting on the talent and creativity on display.
This year’s entertainment programme was particularly special. The choir from Dromakeenan National School delighted the crowd with beautiful seasonal songs, bringing youthful energy and festive charm. Local singer and musician Pat Costello added a wonderful musical performance that drew great applause.
St. Cronan’s own choirs—from both the ROOTS and Nenagh services—also took to the stage, showcasing the talents, confidence, and joy of the individuals supported by the Association. Their performances were a proud highlight of the day.
The day also saw strong support from NTDC, whose ongoing partnership continues to enhance community-based activities, training opportunities, and service-user participation across several projects, including the Christmas Fair.
Their involvement remains an important part of strengthening inclusion and local engagement.
A highlight of this year’s fair was the addition of Andrius from The Brew Company, who joined the event to freshly grind and serve speciality coffees throughout the day. His presence proved extremely popular, adding a modern coffee-bar feel to the event and supporting the growing barista skills within St. Cronan’s own training programmes.
A magical moment came when Santa arrived, escorted by our local Community Garda, much to the excitement of children and families who gathered to welcome him. Santa’s Grotto remained a highlight throughout the day, offering a festive and memorable experience for visitors of all ages.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Jacqui Maher, Director of Services, shared her appreciation:
“Every person who attended, volunteered, or contributed in any way has helped us continue the work we do every day.
The Christmas Fair is about more than fundraising—it’s about celebrating the abilities, talents, and individuality of the people we support. We are truly grateful to the community for their continued support.”
Funds raised from the fair will directly support St. Cronan’s ongoing work with adults with disabilities, helping to deliver training, social enterprise opportunities, and meaningful community inclusion.
As the final visitors left with festive bags and warm smiles, it was clear that this year’s Christmas Fair had strengthened community ties and showcased the spirit that defines St Cronan’s Association CLG.
