Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of Offaly native Luke Price whose family says he has "survival skills" and answers to a different name.

Luke is originally from Geashill in Co Offaly and had been living in the Ballyfin area near Portlaoise towards the end of 2024. He was last seen in Limerick in January of 2025 and was recently the subject of a renewed appeal having not been seen in over a year.

There have been a number of reported sightings by members of the public across different locations in the 13 months since, however none of these have been confirmed to be Luke.

Gardaí say they are still seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the 27-year-old who was reported missing from his home in Mountkennet, Limerick city on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

When last seen, Luke was wearing a black coat, blue jeans and black boots. Gardaí and Luke's family are concerned for his wellbeing.

In an online post last year, Luke's mother Pauline Price said: "Luke is well known in scouting communities in Portlaoise, Tullamore, Clara, Mountmellick and Edenderry. He's a chef. He's himself, a lovely, kind and resourceful young man when he's well. He has survival skills but didn't go prepared, as far as we know. Please help us find him."

A poster of Luke has now been circulated in the counties he was known to frequent, including Laois, Offaly and Limerick. The poster shares further details on Luke's appearance and demeanour, including a distinctive tattoo.

Under 'identifying characteristics', the poster lists: "Glasses, eyes may be moving rapidly, or shakes when speaking. Currently in a manic mental state. Responds to Luke or Gabriel. Spiral tattoo on his left arm."

Speaking on Midlands 103 radio last year, Luke's mother also alluded to his health at the time and said: "It was only after his disappearance when we got together and all of a sudden we could see a line of dots and realised maybe he wasn't in the best state of health."

In a heartbreaking message directly to her son, she told him he's "deeply, deeply missed and that he is loved and deserving of all the love in the world and we just need him to come home."

Anyone with information on Luke’s whereabouts is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
