Christmas Tractor Run planned in Offaly on Sunday next

The Lusmagh Tractor Run will take place on Sunday December 21st.

THE Lusmagh Community Development Association will be holding their Christmas Tractor Run on Sunday next, December 21st.

Now in its second year, the event has quickly become a highlight of the parish calendar. Last year they welcomed over 70 tractors, all lit up and decorated for Christmas, creating a fantastic festive spectacle that brought families, neighbours, and visitors together. They are delighted to be bringing it back again this year, and they expect an even bigger turnout. They will also be running a kids mini Tractor Run prior to the main event.

The event will take place on Sunday, December 21st, with registration from 3.30pm at Lusmagh Hurling Club Grounds. The start time is 5pm.
The route will be through Lusmagh parish and surrounding areas and into Banagher.
Tractors will be decorated in Christmas lights, and there will be a festive atmosphere and family-friendly entertainment.

The Tractor Run is part of the ongoing work to strengthen community spirit in Lusmagh. Throughout 2024, Lusmagh Community Development Association has been focused on developing community initiatives including their new Community Garden, supporting new local groups, such as a Book Club, Craft Club, Walking and Running Groups. They have also been progressing plans for a future playground in the parish. They have also hosted a variety of successful events this year, an Easter Walk, a Family Fun Day, and a Table Quiz, that have helped bring people of all ages together.
