Gaisce Ambassador from Offaly visits European Parliament

Eoin Moylan with MEP Maria Walsh

COLAISTE Naomh Cormac Kilcormac 6th Year student Eoin Moylan visited the European Parliament in April as a member of the Gaisce Youth Ambassadors.

Eoin is the youngest male and only secondary school student on the panel and one of two ambassadors from Offaly. The Gaisce Youth Ambassadors have a unique opportunity to bring attention to the rural issues that young people face.

Eoin had an amazing opportunity to do exactly this on a recent visit to meet with European Parliament President Robert Metsola and MEP Maria Walsh. They also launched Gaisce’s “Be the Arrow” challenge. Inspired by the President of Ireland where he urged young people to “be the arrow not the target” and make a difference.

CNC students, staff and parents are answering that call with our 5k sponsored run in aid of the Aisling Murphy Memorial Fund, this Friday May 9th. Well done to Eoin and his fellow Gaisce Ambassadors on their amazing Gaisce journey.
