Offaly Athletics is proud to host the Ashling Murphy 4 Mile Road Race again in 2025.

At a recent launch event, Ashling’s parents, Ray and Kathleen Murphy, were joined by representatives from Offaly’s athletic clubs and Councillor Peter Ormond to mark the occasion.

This year’s race will take place on Sunday, May 11th, starting and finishing in the heart of Tullamore town centre. Walkers will begin at 9:45am, with runners setting off at 10:00am. The fast, looped course, featuring a downhill finish promises a great opportunity for personal bests.

A highlight of the day will be the presentation of the Ashling Murphy Perpetual Trophy to the first female finisher, a special moment that will be led by Ashling’s parents.

Ray Murphy, Ashling’s dad, will once again lead the participants from the start line on his motorbike, accompanied by members of Camcor Cycles.

The event continues to grow in popularity, with over 2,000 spectators attending last year and even more expected this year. Thanks to the generous support of Centra, all finishers will receive an impressive goody bag.

Other races in the Offaly Endurance Series include:

Jack Cox 10K (Kilcormac Killoughey AC)

In addition to the Perpetual Trophy, there will be prizes for:
