Man prosecuted at Tullamore District Court
A LICENCE found in a car involved in a three-vehicle collision led gardai to the driver, Tullamore District Court heard.
Garda Mark Kenny said that on August 9 last year at 5.05pm there was a three-vehicle accident at Church Road in Tullamore and when gardai arrived “the driver of vehicle was not present”.
A driving licence was found in the car and Garda Kenny went to the house and spoke to the mother of Szymon Konrad Jagodzinski (22), The Vale, Hophill, Tullamore.
Mr Jagodzinski subsequently failed to produce insurance and was summonsed for that offence and for having no insurance.
Pleas of guilty were entered by defending solicitor Patrick Martin and Garda Kenny told Judge Susan Fay that the man had a previous conviction for having no tax disc and two convictions under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Mr Martin said his client was in full-time employment in a local factory and previously had insurance on the vehicle but it had lapsed.

Garda Kenny said Mr Jagodzinski had been covered until August 4 last.
Judge Fay imposed a fine of €750 for uninsured driving.
