Multiple fines for Offaly man who was not insured to drive partner's car
Three separate fines of €300 each were imposed on a man who admitted driving without insurance in Tullamore.
Along with a fine for no insurance, Igor Solinari (40), Hillview House, Corbetstown, Rhode, was fined for non display of tax and using a vehicle without an NCT certificate.
Pleas of guilty to offences on July 10 last year on the R420 at Cloncollig, Tullamore were entered by solicitor Brian Duffy.

Garda Aaron Sheerin said the prosecution related to a 2007 BMW 520 whose tax was out since September 2024.
The NCT had expired in March 2025 and fixed charge notices had been issued but were not paid.
Mr Duffy said the man did not have money at the time to pay the notices. He had comprehensive insurance on his own vehicle and thought he was insured to drive his girlfriend's.
Mr Duffy asked Judge Andrew Cody not to disqualify the father of three, saying he was a full‑time carer for twins.
Garda Sheerin told Judge Cody a female was the registered owner of the car being driven by the accused and he had been informed on the day of the offence that it did belong to Mr Solinari's partner.
The judge imposed the fines but when Mr Duffy applied for legal aid he was asked if the BMW could not be sold because it might be worth “a few hundred quid”.
Mr Duffy said the man could not sell his girlfriend's car.
Judge Cody responded: “He can drive it though.” He then granted legal aid.
