A MAN accused of robbing a pharmacy in Tullamore will be sent to the Circuit Court, Judge Andrew Cody said this week.

Philip Maguire (37), with an address at St Columba's Place, Tullamore is alleged to have robbed €530 cash in notes of €50, €20 and €10, plus medication to the value of €192, at McCormack Pharmacy, Kilbeggan Bridge, Arden Road, Tullamore on October 22 last year.

Having previously been refused bail, Mr Maguire appeared before Tullamore District Court on Wednesday by video link from prison.

Sergeant Richard Thornton told the court the book of evidence was not yet ready and asked that Mr Maguire be remanded to appear in court on February 4.

Sergeant Thornton said the book of evidence will be ready in two weeks and David Nugent, BL, appearing for Mr Maguire, put it on record that he wished it be ready in that time.

Judge Cody said the State will have to produce Mr Maguire in court on February 4 and told the accused that he will be sent to the Circuit Court on that day.
