One of worst roads in Offaly closed for nine weeks for further works

One of the worst roads in Offaly is closed for another nine weeks for further works.

The latest round of works got underway on the R-400-1 between Rhode and Rochfortbridge on Monday, January 12. The works will take nine weeks with the road set to be closed until Friday, March 13.

A detour will be in place which will see traffic diverted via Croghan and Tyrellspass. Offaly County Council says that the road will be impassable at all times during the duration of the closure. 

Offaly County Council says it regrets any inconvenience caused to road users.
