One man in his 30's has tragically died following a three vehicle collision in the Midlands this evening.
The accident, involving 2 cars and a van, occurred at around 7pm in Edgesworthstown, Longford.
A second man, also in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for injuries described as serious but non-life threatening.
Local diversions are in place as the road is currently closed for examination by the Forensic Collision Investigators.
Emergency services are still on site and motorists with dash cam footage who were travelling in the area between 6:30pm and 7:15pm this evening are asked to contact Longford Gardaí on 043 3350570.
