An Offaly village raised €1,000 for Offaly Hospice with a festive takeover at a popular pub. Seven locals took on the challenge to run Hamiltons of Geashill in the run up to Christmas to fundraise for Offaly Hospice. Family and friends turned out to see locals swap the comfort of their stools for pulling pints and serving drinks in aid of the very worthy cause. Hamiltons owners Michael Comyn and Paul Moriarty are celebrating their third Christmas in Geashill having taken over the corner pub in the village in 2023, raising funds each year for the hospice. Michael commented, “it was such a treat to have our locals taking on the challenge of running the pub over the last few days. They were all experts at pouring the perfect pint... by the end of their shift!”
