Gardaí issue description of man involved in 'suspicious approach' of young girl in Portarlington

Gardai have issued a description of a man involved in a ‘suspicious approach’ of a young child in Portarlington on Tuesday afternoon. 

It’s understood a man approached a young girl, thought to be 10 years old, near the Main Street in Portarlington at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, December 16. The man spoke to the girl who fled the scene. 

“We have a report of a suspicious approach. We are investigating,” Laois Gardai confirmed. 

The man was described by Gardaí as being of “slim build, 50s, white skin and grey hair” and he was driving a silver car.
