Committee members of Dochas pictured at the launch of the tractor run
AN annual staple of the Christmas season is Tullamore returns yet again this year on Sunday, December 28.
The ever popular Tullamore Tractor Run will raise funds for Dochas – the Offaly Cancer Support Group.
The run was officially launched on Sunday afternoon week last outside Dochas' headquarter in Offaly St in Tullamore.
This is the 18th annual tractor run and to date a massive €480,000 has been raised for worthy local causes.
The entry fee for participating vehicles is €25 and you can register online at tullamoretractorrun.com
Vintage and classic tractors, cars, trucks and motor cycles will assemble on the morning of the run at 10am in Market Square, Tullamore.

The truck assembly point is the old Coen's yard on Church Road in Tullamore.
The route is Harbour St, William St, High St, left to Clonminch, Derrybeg, Derryclure, left in Killeigh towards Newtown, left at Ballina Cross and back to Tullamore.
A great family gathering and morning outing is promised for all.
Speaking at the launch of the event recently, PJ Lynam congratulated the hard working committee, along with family and friends, on last year's very successful event which raised a phenomenal €52,000, way beyond everyone's expectations.
:This woudl not have been possible without the efforts from the committee, the sponsors and the community at large," he stressed.
Mr Lynam added; "Our objective from the beginning 17 years ago was that all funds raised would go to cancer care and to date our total amount collected over that time has reached €480,000. This is some achievement by any standard but we can never get too complacent and efforts have to continue to ensure the event runs successfully each year."
