'One of life's true gentlemen' - Tributes paid after death of beloved Offaly man

Tributes are being paid this week to local man Packy Taylor after his sad death last weekend.

From Knockdrin, near Rhode, Co Offaly, Packy passed away unexpectedly at his home last Saturday. He is pre-deceased by his parents John and Katie.

An RIP.ie notice reads: "Packy will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his heartbroken brother Jimmy, sister-in-law Rosemary, niece Terri, nephews Ronan, Cathal and Kieran, Ronan's partner Emma, Cathal's partner Emily, his work family and dear friends The Brennan family-Tyrellspass Doors, cousins, extended family, wonderful neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

One tribute to him read: "Deepest sympathy to Jimmy, Rosemary & extended Taylor family on the passing of Packy. One of life’s true gentleman always enjoyed the chat with him. Packy May you rest in the peace of heaven."

Another said: "Sincere sympathy to the Taylor family on the sudden passing of Packy. He will be forever missed in Esker Hills by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at John Healy's Chapel of Rest, Rochfortbridge (N91 R291) on Wednesday (28th Feb) from 4.30pm until prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Thursday to the Church of the Assumption, Ballinabrackey for Funeral Mass at 12noon with burial afterwards in Castlejordan Cemetery.
