'A dear friend' - RTÉ announces new presenter for popular show following Hugh Wallace's death

RTÉ has announced that a new presenter will take over The Great House Revival following the passing of celebrity architect, Hugh Wallace.

Brendan Courteney, Irish fashion designer and presenter of Keys to my Life, is set to take over the role "honouring Hugh Wallace's legacy" when the show returns in the spring.

In a post on Instagram earlier this week, RTÉ announced the news saying Hugh's "dear friend Brendan Courtney will help complete some remaining filming on the upcoming series" honouring the architects remarkable dedication and passion.

The popular show, now going in to it's sixth season, follows ambitious homeowners who take on the task of transforming their derelict properties into beautiful homes.

RTÉ recently announced that with the blessing of Hugh's family, they would proceed with the broadcast of the new series along with the new series of Home of the Year, which finished filming before Hugh's untimely passing in December, 2025, aged 68.

Fellow Irish tv presenters and colleagues commented under the RTÉ post congratulating Courtney on the new role, including Darren Kennedy and Muireann O Connell.
