Defender Danny Collinge scored two headers as Barnet beat Southend 3-0, with their first National League win in a month moving them into second in the table.
After four league draws Collinge’s goals proved pivotal in the Bees taking advantage of York’s defeat to overtake the Minstermen.
Collinge headed home Anthony Hartigan’s 24th-minute corner and then Myles Kenlock’s cross went in off Southend’s James Golding to make it 2-0 before half-time.
With 16 minutes remaining Collinge headed home again to take his tally to three for the season and secure the points.
