Busy weekend ahead for Kickboxing Club in Offaly at home and abroad

BIRR K-1 kickboxing have a very busy weekend approaching.

On Saturday November 22nd, they have four fighters competing on a WKO sanctioned light contact fight night in Ardmore, Co. Waterford.

They have Eibhe Buckley, 7 years of age, stepping into a demonstration bout on the mats.

Odhran 'Nutcracker' Kennedy is also in action and is looking to bulid onto his All Ireland light contact gold medal.

Ryan Morrissey is on bit of a roll at the minute. He claimed an All Ireland low kick light gold medal in September and recently followed that up with another good win in Birr at their light contact fight night. He faces a strong opponent from Dublin.

Alex 'Hitman' Hough headlines the fight night and challenges for the WKO junior welterweight low kick light National title.

Alex started training with the club just over a year ago and has progressed fantastically well and is a pleasure to coach and is doing everything asked of him.

Alex is the current Munster light contact champion and also claimed medals at WKO All Ireland light contact Championships and then won another Silver medal at the WKO Midlands Open Championships.

Alex has recently debuted into full contact ring competition and is 2-0 including a TKO victory.

His opponent is Andrew Duggan and is the current light contact All Ireland champion and llow kick full contact Irish champion.

This will be a fantastic fight and the club wish Alex the best of skill.

Then on November 24th, Conor 'Curly' Hynes makes history yet again for his first Professional k-1 kickboxing fight in Geneva, Switzerland.

Conor and head coach Raphael Creamer fly out of Dublin airport on November 24th and get picked up upon arrival and will do their weigh-ins and press conference, rehydrate and rest before the big fight on November 25th and they fly back home on November 26th.

Conor became double world champion again this year and picked up Gold medals in K-1 kickboxing and full contact kickboxing at the WKO World kickboxing championships in August. Conor also became triple Irish k-1 kickboxing champion in May of this year with a devastating KO victory in the Marian Hall at the Battle of Birr 2.

This is huge opportunity and has come off of the back of Conor's constant training and dedication over the past three years.

This fight night is broadcast live on national TV in Switzerland and the card has professional boxing fights, Muay Thai and k-1 kickboxing on the card.

The club wish Conor the best of skill.
