Ryanair has issued a warning to Irish holidaymakers ahead of the summer months that two of their popular holiday destinations are unable to accept digital boarding passes.
The days of printing off boarding passes at home before setting sail for the airport will seem like a distant memory for many who have become accustomed to simply saving their boarding pass to their smartphone. However, Ryanair has flagged that some airports do not accept digital boarding passes.
Those jetting off to holiday hotspots in Turkey and Morocco, and indeed one airport in Albania, will have to remember to print out a physical copy of their boarding pass.
"We accept mobile boarding passes on flights from the majority of airports on our network," Ryanair states on their website.
"However unfortunately some airports cannot accept mobile boarding passes yet, these airports are: Turkey and Morocco."
The budget airline explained: "If you depart from a Moroccan airport, a digital boarding pass will not be accepted. You must carry a physical printout of your boarding pass, and you’ll need to present this boarding pass at the Moroccan airport check-in facility."
The website also notes that Tirana airport in Albania "does not accept mobile boarding passes".
Customers travelling from these airports must "check in online and print out a paper boarding pass for their flight(s)".
Holidaymakers can access their boarding pass via ‘My Bookings’ on the Ryanair.com website or the Ryanair App.
