Limerick hurling captain and wife Louise serenaded by Corona's frontman with Cranberries classic for first dance

Newlyweds Declan Hannon and Louise Cantillon join The Coronas frontman Danny O'Reilly

LIMERICK hurling captain Declan Hannon and his bride Louise Cantillon let things 'Linger' for their first dance as husband and wife.

The pair chose The Cranberries 1993 hit as the music to their special moment at their wedding reception on Friday night in Adare Manor.

The honour of performing the track fell to Danny O'Reilly, lead singer with The Coronas, who is the son of another Irish musical icon, Mary Black.

In a video posted to her Instagram page, newlywed Louise highlighted the lyrics: "But you always really knew, I just want to be with you."

She paid a tribute to The Coronas singer Danny, and violinist Maria Ryan who joined him on the vocal for "this magic moment".

In response, Danny wrote: "Honoured to be there on your magical day", and signed off with a heart emoji.

The video shows Declan and Louise waltzing on the dancefloor of the function room in the country estate while joyfully singing along to the track, written by the late Dolores O'Riordan of Ballybricken and her bandmate Noel Hogan.

The couple are surrounded by hundreds of family and friends who encircle them for the precious moment.

The five-time All-Ireland winning captain, from Adare, married his long-time love Louise from Kilcornan, in Holy Trinity Abbey Church in his home village on Friday afternoon ahead of the reception at the five-star resort across the road.

Dreams by the Cranberries has become the signature tune of the Limerick hurling panel during the unprecedented era of success they are enjoying.

Another track by the band, Zombie, and Westlife’s, When You're Looking Like That - both tracks which also have become anthems of the Limerick hurling team - were also played at the reception, with guests in full voice.
