Templemore
Templemore urgently needs public toilet facilities to cater for visitors to the town and to help grow the town's tourist offering, a local councillor says.
Independent Lowry Team councillor, Eddie Moran, says visitors to Templemore are forced to use facilities in local hospitality outlets, which is not an adequate solution and such facilities are not always available.
Cllr Moran told the monthly meeting of the Municipal Council for the Templemore area the town's needs for public facilities has been repeatedly highlighted at local authority meetings and has "been shoved under the table."
"We want tourism in our town and we have people off buses and visitors to the Town Park having to use the local hotel and pubs - in this day and age it is just not acceptable," Cllr Moran said.
The nearby Devil's Bit attracts visitors from around the country and abroad who stop off in Templemore and find there is no available facilities, Cllr Moran said.

"We want people to stay in the town when they stop - I don't know what the problem is with Tipperary County Council that they can't put in public toilets that are maintained," Cllr Moran said.
