A Tullamore woman who threw items from her car was disqualified from driving and fined at Tullamore District Court on Wednesday last.

Hilary Mahon (54), with an address at 33 Norbury Woods Green, Tullamore appeared in Tullamore District Court charged with dangerous driving under Section 53 (1) of the Road Traffic Act.

Sgt Richie Thorton, court presenter, said that on Wednesday, October 8 of this year at Whitehall, Puttaghan, Tullamore at 4.08pm Garda Connaughton was on mobile patrol when he observed a car being driven in a reckless manner and pursued the vehicle in the direction of Daingean.

Garda Connaughton observed the car swerving onto the wrong side of the road and the driver was seen throwing items from the car, which were later identified as rubbish from fast food outlets.

The driver stopped the car and Garda Connaughton arrested the defendant, who has no previous convictions.

Solicitor for the defendant, Patrick Martin, told the court his client pleaded guilty to the offence at the earliest opportunity and receives disability welfare support.
