THE Ferbane Town Team, in partnership with Offaly County Council, is inviting residents to play a vital role in shaping the town's future.

A draft Town Centre First Plan has been created as part of the national Town Centre First Initiative, aiming to revitalise Ferbane by focusing on the needs and requirements of the local community. This plan, developed by consultants Brady, Shipman, Martin, is a multi-layered approach that includes strategic objectives, proposals, and actions. It's built on a foundation of collaboration and communication with local stakeholders, thorough analysis of the town, and defining a clear path for future development.

The works will include the redevelopment of the main building, ancillary buildings and grounds to incorporate a multi-purpose community/enterprise/learning space; the refurbishment of the assembly hall; the construction of a new two-storey extension with a new accessible three-storey staircase/lift to the existing convent building; the demolition of a prefabricated structure, two-storey outbuilding, concrete portal frame classrooms and storage buildings; creation of a linear River walk amenity; and a new vehicular access from the Ballycumber Road, parking provision and all associated site works.

You can  have your say by completing the Town Centre First survey. The survey is open until Tuesday the 30th September 2025. Survey link: https://forms.office.com/e/4Mt5hkasSU
