'Movies, Musicals & More' with Nenagh's Grace Shesgreen in the Arts Centre

Following her sell-out show at Nenagh Arts Centre last year, which raised significant funds for CF Ireland Nenagh’s very own, Grace Shesgreen will once again take to the stage to bring you a night of cinematic features and timeless classics.

Taking place this September on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th at 8.00pm in Nenagh Arts Centre as she brings ‘Movies, Musicals and More to the Nenagh stage in aid of the North Tipperary Hospice Support Services and the North Tipperary Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.

Grace feels privileged to say this will be her second headlining show she brings to her hometown. Alongside Grace on both nights are only some of the friends she has made along her journey.

Making their return to the Nenagh stage are April Kelly, Andrew O’Grady and Rachel Gaughan, as well as some newcomers, Dan Whelan and Kacey Mooney.

The voices of these performers will form the centre piece of the evening, and focus not only on songs of nostalgia, but delve into the classics. These performers promise you a night of Ireland’s upcoming and emerging talent.

Grace is thrilled to also have two very special local guests performing on each night. On Friday evening she will be joined by Nenagh’s very own, Misneach Choir.

A vibrant group of thirteen ladies and one gentleman, who promise to bring a night filled with harmonies and heart on the back of their recent launch of their single ‘Everybody Hurts’.

Following on from this, the very talented Paul Brown, a stranger to no stage and member to several musical and drama societies, will make an appearance on the Saturday evening.

Both nights are not to be missed as these performers are guaranteed to wow each and every member of the audience.

Friday night’s performance will be in aid of the North Tipperary Hospice Support Services, and Saturday night’s performance is in aid of the North Tipperary Branch of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, with Grace making a donation to both organisations along with each charity hosting an interval raffle on the night.

Grace now holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from American College Dublin, something she has worked towards since the age of 6, when her love for the stage first bloomed.

She will never forget the very important job she was given back then to stick her tongue out to a fellow performer on stage in Nenagh Choral Society’s 2007 production of ‘Carousel’.

Since then, she has performed in several AIMS affiliated productions, most recently appearing as ‘Martha’ in the A.I.M.S Awarded production of ‘Spring Awakening’ with North Wexford Musical Theatre. Prior to her studies, Grace has been both classically and theatrically trained by Deirdre Hannifey, Birr, affiliated to the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Following a chance opportunity, thanks to Albert Purcell of BSR, Grace became a featured soloist for three years running in the highly successful ‘An Evening With...’ concerts in St.Mary’s Church, Nenagh.

She briefly collaborated with Joe Csibi of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the local ‘In Tune For Life Orchestra’ led by TG4 Grádham Ceol Winner, Ned Kelly, and performed alongside Eurovision winner Eimear Quinn, Liam Lawton and Phil Coulter.

She remains forever grateful to all for these opportunities and learnings she received in her early years.

Throughout her training, she took on many roles such as Reno Sweeney in ‘Anything Goes’, and Lucy in the Irish premiere of ‘Bright Star’, both of which were ACD affiliated productions that took place in the dlr Mill Theatre.

Whilst training she also appeared as a featured performer in a graduate showcase on the Peacock Stage in The Abbey Theatre, Dublin, a soloist in the Artane Band’s Annual Showcase in The O’Mahony Hall in the Helix Theatre, Dublin, and a soloist supporting Deirdre Masterson’s album release. ‘Mo Chroí’ in The

Strand Theatre, alongside well- known performer, Derek Ryan. In honour of her dedication to her studies and her contribution and potential within the future of Irish theatre, Grace was a recipient of the A.I.M.S bursary in 2022.

Since graduating she has appeared as ‘Jill’ in ‘Jack and The Beanstalk’ in the dlr Mill Theatre’s annual Christmas panto. Grace is also delighted to inform the Nenagh theatre goers that she will also feature as a soloist at the A.I.M.S 60th Anniversary Concert: ‘Ovation’, this October 11th in the Convention Centre, Dublin.

Following a busy year within the industry, Grace felt the timing was right to create these special nights once again. To get the opportunity to perform with her friends in her hometown and for their voices and talents to shine through, before they all begin the next stage of their careers.
