Man prosecuted at Tullamore District Court

A PORTUGUESE language interpreter will be required for court proceedings involving a man with an Edenderry address, a solicitor told Tullamore District Court.

Brian Duffy applied for an adjournment of consideration of summonses against his client Ferreira De Oliveira (24), St Francis Street, Edenderry.

Mr De Oliveira is alleged to have driven without insurance and a licence at Dunnes Link Road, Edenderry on July 29 last.

Mr Duffy told Judge Susan Fay that his client had a friend with him in court but added: “Between the three of us we can't understand each other.”

Judge Fay adjourned the prosecution to March 11 next.
