DIRECTIONS from the DPP must be available by February 25 next in the case of a man accused of a Christmas Day burglary in Tullamore.

Judge Susan Fay made a remand in custody order peremptory against the State when David Condon (35), Cosby Hall, Stradbally, Co Laois appeared before Tullamore District Court by video link from Wheatfield Prison.

Mr Condon is accused of two burglaries on December 25 last at Captain House, Main Street, Tullamore.

When Sergeant Richard Thornton sought an adjournment for two weeks for directions from the DPP, David Nugent, BL, for Mr Condon, said the prosecution had previously indicated the directions would be available.

Judge Fay suggested an adjournment for three weeks and that was accepted by Mr Condon.

The judge said Mr Condon's next appearance will also be by video link.
