Man prosecuted at Tullamore District Court
A BOOK of evidence is being prepared for the prosecution of a man accused of robbing a Tullamore pharmacy.
Tullamore District Court was previously told that Philip Maguire (37), with an address at St Columba's Place, Tullamore, had been apprehended by a garda after allegedly robbing McCormack Pharmacy, Kilbeggan Bridge, Arden Road, Tullamore on October 22 last year.
During a bail application Judge Andrew Cody viewed CCTV footage which showed a man, said by Garda Alan Mills to be Mr Maguire, holding a gun in the pharmacy.
Mr Maguire is alleged to have robbed €530 cash in notes of €50, €20 and €10, plus medication to the value of €192.

The accused was refused bail and remanded in custody and when he appeared before Judge Andrew Cody this week (Wednesday, January 7), defence counsel David Nugent said the matter could be adjourned for a book of evidence.
Sergeant Brendan Kearns applied for an adjournment to January 21 and Judge Cody remanded Mr Maguire to appear in court again on that date.
