Vigilant members of the public in Offaly tip off gardai about stolen cars

Vigilant members of the public in Offaly recently tipped off the Gardaí about suspicious looking cars.

The Gardaí investigated and discovered that the two cars had been stolen, had false number plates and were probably going to be used in crimes.

At 10pm on Monday January 20, gardai recovered a vehicle in Banagher, which had been stolen in County Clare. The car was displaying false number plates and was also storing a number of false number plates.

At 3.30pm on Sunday, February 2 a car in Crinkle was recovered. It also was displaying false plates.

Both cars were swabbed for DNA, photographs were taken and fingerprint samples were taken.
