Gardai are investigating a New Year's Day robbery and assault in the Midlands.
Gardaí from the Detective Branch in Portlaoise are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred in Portlaoise on Wednesday, January 1, between 10.35pm and 10.45pm. The incident occurred at the junction of Greenmill Lane and the Mountmellick Road.
Gardai are seeking information about two men and a woman who were observed acting suspiciously in the area during this time, particularly near Mountmellick Road, Greenmill Lane, and in the Dunnes Stores car park.
