Traditional entertainment brings out the crowd for Citeaux Hall Variety Concert

The appreciative audience enjoyed stellar performances from a myriad of local talented individuals and groups

THE beautifully renovated Citeaux Hall was thrilled to host an excellent variety concert recently with a huge range and diversity in performances.

Local community games acts including dancing, singing and comedy led by Nicola Lalor and the local Comhaltas Ceoiltoiri na hEireann branch in Roscrea provided excellent traditional music led by Pat Flanagan.

Eamon Franks and Gerry McAulliffe gave hilarious recitals of the 'County Final' and 'A Holiday in the Sun', which had everyone crying with laughter.

The local victorious Minor A hurling panel county champions, led by joint captains Liam O’Riordan and Gearoid Maher attended.

This win was a great source of pride for everyone involved in the local GAA Club who joined us during the interval.
Strong individual performances by local talents, Saorise Lalor, Alison O’Meara, Keeva Davey, Rachel Ryan and Gillian Loughnane left the audience stunned at their singing and skill.

Local Irish Dancers gave a great display of traditional culture led by local teacher Caitriona Maher, who holds weekly classes in the Hall.

Local musicans also provided a group performance led by Catherine Browne, Kelly Feehan, Aine Gleeson and Marie Brennan.
The final act finished very strong by blowing the audience away with their annual performances. The Ballyskenach Drama Group impressed the audience with their 'Midlife (crisis)' set of some Westlife classics.

The organisers would like to everyone who helped make their vital fundraiser happen - special gratitude to all the performers and their co-ordinators and a special word of thanks to Tadgh Maher, the excellent audience, parking attendants, kitchen helpers who kept everyone fed, backstage crew, front of house crew, MC Sean O’Meara, and loyal sponsors, Liffey Mills, Douglas Hardware, Doherty Hardware, Colaiste Phobal Ros Cre, Sean Rowland, John Hogan (Furniture), Tony O’Riordan & Centra (Shinrone).
