The meeting will take place in Tullamore Central Library
THE newly formed Offaly Climate and Biodiversity Action Group are holding their first public event on Thursday 24th July 2025 in the upstairs room of Tullamore Library which is located on O’Connor Sq, Tullamore (Eircode: R35 X226).
The event, which is open to the public and is free of charge, will commence at 6.30 pm and consists of a public talk by Aoife Ní Bhroin from Met Éireann on the subject “How our changing climate is affecting our plants and animals”.
The speaker Aoife Ní Bhroin is an expert in phenology and in her talk she will outline how the changing climate impacts the established natural order of plants and wild animals.
Offaly Climate and Biodiversity Action Group is a newly formed voluntary group, working to promote the wellbeing of biodiversity and to help create a more sustainable and healthy County for us all.

The group have emphasized that it is not aligned to any political party and have stated that if any member of the public has any queries or would like further information in respect of the activities of the group an email can be sent to the group at offalyclimateandbio@outlook.com and that all emails will be responded to.
In addition members of the public can follow the group via its Facebook page. The action group have stated that they would love to see a good turnout at the talk on July 24 as gaining a greater understanding of the impacts of climate change on the natural world will empower communities to act to protect this vital resource.
