Many tributes have been paid to Alan with one friend writing: "So sorry to hear about Alan, a pure gentleman, always had a good word for every one and would always see him and always in the store or at back door of the centre, he would always say hello. Dunnes Stores has lost a pivotal member of staff. He will be sorely missed at the deli counter at Dunnes Stores at the Bridge Centre. A class musician, to his family and friends, I offer my condolences, RIP Alan."
