An army helicopter assisted in a medical emergency in the Midlands this morning, Thursday, April 4.
The helicopter landed in a parish sports field in Mountmellick in Laois.
It took off with the patient on board at about 12 noon for a rapid transfer to hospital.
It is understood that a man suffered an injury while carrying out works at a house in the estate.
An ambulance and Gardai also attended the scene.
