Fianna Fail Councillor Shane Murray has said he will not be voting for Gareth Sheridan who is set to address Offaly County Council next Monday, September 22.
Cllr Murray says he will be backing Fianna Fail Candidate Jim Gavin. ''I believe he is best suited for the position of president,'' said the Tullamore based councillor.
Millionaire Gareth Sheridan is the only one of 22 applicants allowed to address the council.
At the meeting which will get underway at noon next Monday, 36-year-old Gareth Sheridan will be given 15 minutes to speak followed by a question and answer session before a vote takes place.
He is the founder of US-based company Nutribrand and he has already received the backing of elected members of Kerry County Council.

Jim Gavin is a retired Defence Forces Officer and a former Gaelic football manager and player. He managed the senior Dublin County team from 2012 to 2019 and became one of the county's most successful managers in terms of titles won.
He served as a senior officer in the Irish Air Corps, including roles in UN peacekeeping.
