Scotts Avenue is to become Tullamore's newest residential area.Located at Tyrell's Road and Puttaghaun, the estate is being developed by Fitzpatrick & Heavey Homes and will feature 150 high-quality, A-rated homes. These will include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom dwellings.

According to developer Ciaran Fitzpatrick, the level of interest so far has been staggering with over 1,000 enquiries already registered. The first homes are expected to be completed by the end of August.

The name Scotts Avenue is a respectful nod to Michael Scott, the renowned Irish architect best known locally for designing the former Tullamore hospital, just around the corner. Scott’s legacy also includes many landmark buildings throughout Ireland, making the name a fitting tribute.

The site was previously owned by John Flanagan Developments Ltd before being acquired by Fitzpatrick & Heavey Homes. Planning was approved earlier this year by An Bord Pleanála, and the project includes provision for several age-friendly one and two-bedroom units, although Ciaran Fitzpatrick the initial focus is firmly on getting the main houses built.

Currently, 30 to 40 workers are on site, but that number is expected to double to 80 as construction ramps up. Ciaran Fitzpatrick also confirmed the company is actively looking to purchase more land in the Tullamore area for future housing projects.
