Cemetery Sunday ceremonies coming up

THE annual Cemetery Sunday ceremony at Clonminch in Tullamore will take place on Sunday, August 17 at 1pm.

In Durrow cemetery, the annual Cemetery Sunday ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 14 at 11.30am.

Meanwhile, the annual Corpus Christi procession through the streets of Tullamore will take place – weather permitting - on Saturday, June 21 after the 6.30pm vigil Mass.

The proposed route will be from the Store Street gate of the Church of the Assumption onto Harbour Street, Columcille (William) Street, Church Street, O’Carroll (Henry) Street, returning to the church by the Harbour Street gate for benediction in the chuch yard.

Parishioners are asked to note that the canopy and Blessed Sacrament will be at the rear of the procession to allow the First Communion children to take up position behind the adults and in front of the canopy and they can drop flower petals if they wish.
