Man fined for possession of drugs at Tullamore district court
A man was fined at the district court for being in possession of drugs when he appeared at last Wednesday's sitting.
Alan O'Brien 13, Kilbrook, Tullamore, was stopped at Park Avenue, Tullamore, when he was seen acting suspiciously by Garda Mark McCallon on December 19, 2024. He was found to have €80 worth of drugs on him. He admitted the drugs were for his own use.
He had three previous convictions for possession of knives in 2013 and abusive and threatening behaviour.
Solicitor Aisling Maloney said her client was 41 years old and on disability. She said he was cooperative.
Judge Andrew Cody fined Alan O'Brien €400 and gave him six months to pay.
