Government Minister meets close family members during visit to Tullamore

The Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll-MacNeill had a chance to meet up with close family members when she paid a visit to Tullamore recently.

The Fine Gael Dublin TD was in the Offaly county town to visit the proposed site of the long awaited Midlands hospice on Arden Lane.

During the visit she met well-known Tullamore woman, Sheila McDermott and local Fianna Fail councillor, Shane Murray, who is also chairman of Tullamore Tidy Towns.

Sheila's mother, Cllr Murray's grandmother and Minister Carroll-MacNeill's grandmother were three sisters who originally hailed from 13 Davitt St.

Cllr Murray said he and Sheila were "very proud of the Minister and delighted to welcome her to Tullamore."
