Offaly Ógra Fianna Fáil members attend National Youth Conference in Athlone

Conference sees election of Ticknevin woman as President of Offaly Ógra Fianna Fail

Members of Offaly Ógra Fianna Fáil delegation proudly took part in the Ógra Fianna Fáil National Youth Conference held at the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, over the weekend.

The event marked a significant milestone as Ógra celebrated 50 years of youth engagement and activism within the party.

A major highlight for the Offaly group was the election of their own Leanne Mallen as the new President of Ógra Fianna Fáil.

Leanne, a dedicated teacher from Ticknevin, outside Carbury, is a former student of Oaklands Community College in Edenderry. Her election was met with great enthusiasm and pride from fellow delegates and party members alike.

The conference was attended by key figures in Fianna Fáil including Taoiseach Micheál Martin, former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, Minister for Finance Jack Chambers, MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, and MEP Billy Kelleher. The Offaly delegation were also joined by local TD Tony McCormack and Naoise Ó Cearúil TD, whose mother hails from Walsh Island, .

The weekend provided an opportunity for young members across the country to connect, celebrate Ógra’s legacy, and shape the future direction of youth politics within the party. Offaly’s strong presence and leadership at the conference signal a bright future for the next generation of Fianna Fáil.
