Three Tullamore secondary schools will reopen tomorrow

TULLAMORE College, the Sacred Heart School and Colaiste Choilm are all due to re-open tomorrow January 7.

The schools remained closed today due to the icy weather conditions.

The Sacred Heart School said it wanted to prioritise the safety of the school community. It also said that wearing the school uniform will be optional and urged students to wear clothes that are appropriate for the cold weather.

Colaiste Choilm said it was staying closed to ensure the health and safety of all.

Meanwhile Tullamore College said that with side roads in poor condition, school bus routes would also no be operating. It encouraged students to follow the guidelines from Met Eireann as it plans to also open tomorrow.

Meanwhile a number of local link buses were delayed or cancelled today
