Don't miss it! The Delvin Book Festival returns to Westmeath

The volunteers will be delighted to welcome friends old and new at St Patrick’s Hall in Delvin (N91 X449) on Sunday, May 4 from 12pm

The Delvin Book Festival is set to kick off a Summer of fun in Westmeath, with this year’s event promising to be bigger and better than ever!

Taking place on Sunday, May 4 from 12pm to 5pm, Ireland’s biggest book fair hopes you can join them in celebrating 15 years of providing legions of loyal customers with high quality pre-loved books, all priced from just €1.

The Delvin Book Festival is the principal fundraiser for the maintenance and improvement of facilities at Delvin Sports and Leisure Centre. The festival attracts 2,000 book lovers to Delvin annually, bringing a great sense of community and excitement to “The Valley.”

The literary legacy of patron Brinsley McNamara reminds us all of the vital role village life plays in heritage and culture and this year the team are delighted to have six village venues where visitors can browse at their leisure in the search for the perfect beach-read book or page-turner that will feel like a warm hug by the winter fire.

Each venue will be packed to the rafters with hundreds of great books and strolling from one village shop to the next will be a book-lover’s dream Sunday afternoon, where Delvin’s Main Street and hostelries will come alive with music and entertainment for all the family.

St Patrick’s Hall will be the hub for the afternoon’s events, with 1000’s of books on display and the team look forward to hearing the hall buzzing with conversations of chance encounters and old acquaintances, just as village life has always been.
