Midland  woman wins prestigious Ivan Webb Memorial Award

AGLISH woman Noelle Horan won the prestigious Ivan Webb Memorial Award at the Annual Motorsport Ireland, Champions of Motorsport awards in Dublin last week .

Noelle Horan is an exceptional force within Irish motorsport, exemplifying dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to inspiring, encouraging, and supporting people in motorsport.

As Secretary of Birr & District Motor Club, she consistently demonstrates outstanding organisational ability, ensuring smooth operations, clear communication, and unfailing support for members and volunteers.

The various events that the Club run are each approached with the same enthusiasm to have the event run to the highest standards for both the organisers and the competitors. She will then also volunteer on the day! All are humbled by the sheer volume of dedication and time that she puts into every aspect she dedicates to the Club and to motorsport, all while juggling a full-time job. She even cut her Summer holiday short in order to be back to help at a club event!

Noelle is as happy to run the admin side, as she is to marshal or officiate and can be found at any number of events around the country supporting club events and competitors to reach their fullest potential.

Noelle can also be found at events in Ireland and across Europe navigating for her dad Pat Horan, or as part of ETM Motorsport with her husband Eoghan at events all over Ireland. As the first person from Motorsport Ireland to engage in the Sport Ireland Certificate in Sports Coach Development Programme, Noelle has strengthened the pathway for future leaders in the sport by fostering growth, inclusion, and high standards of practice.

By working closely with Commissions and the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, she is expanding her skillset to pave the way for coaching at all levels of the sport. As Secretary of the Motorsport Ireland Women in Motorsport Commission, her networking and organisational skills have raised women’s profile in motorsport; not just as competitors, but officials, marshals and backroom teams, helping to increase women’s participation in motorsport in all of its guises both at home and abroad.

Known for her approachable manner, friendly presence, and willingness to get stuck into any project, Noelle has become a trusted point of contact across the motorsport community. Her strong networking skills and collaborative spirit have connected individuals, clubs, and initiatives, contributing significantly to the advancement of motorsport at every level and highlighting Irish participation in motorsport abroad. In recognition of her exceptional service, leadership, and lasting impact, Noelle Horan is a deserving winner for the Ivan Webb Memorial Award.
