Turkey Chaser Autotest

The Birr Club's annual Turkey Chaser Autotest took place in Garahys Garage Birr on Saturday December 28th. This event always attracts entrants from all over Ireland who come, not only for the great tests that are set up, but also for the hospitality from the hosts Kieran, Ethna and the Garahy family. There was a great turn out of club members competing on the day.

Here's now club members fare out:

Class 1; Patrick O Leary 3rd.

Class 2; Kieran Garahy 2nd, Ciaran Dwyer 3rd, Stephen Garahy 4th, Eoin Longworth 6th, Becky Hollinshead 7th/

Class 4; Padraig Forde 2nd, Declan Burke 4th.

Class 5; Susan Smyth 3rd.

Class 7; Ronan Mooney 1st.

Boggeragh Rallysprint

The Boggeragh Rallysprint took place in Cork on Sunday December 29th.

Roscrea's Conor Fogarty made his Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series debut navigated by his father Eoghan.

There was a strong junior field of 18 cars with Conor taking a super 5th place, 2.1 seconds off a podium finish!

Another club member to make his debut in Cork was David Murray. This was David's first day in the passenger seat navigating for Tristan Horan. The pair were winning their class until a misfire on the last run put them back to 3rd in Class.

Other club members competing were Mike O'Connor Snr who was 9th overall and 1st in class 5A and Timo Shinnors who won his class.

Congrats

Finally a big congratulations to our club member Becky Hollinshead on being recently upgraded from trainee Scrutineer to full Scrutineer.

Becky is the second female Scrutineer in Motorsport Ireland to be upgraded. It's great to see females joining the team and it shows there are no barriers to equality in motorsport.

Well done Becky.

Well Done

Well done to everyone and also a big thanks to everyone who helped out at the autotest. Keep an eye on our socials or www.Birrmotorclub.com for upcoming events.
