Football rumours: Manchester United looking to bring back Angel Gomes

What the papers say

Manchester United are looking to bring England midfielder Angel Gomes back to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail. The 24-year-old, who came through the club’s academy, would be available on a free transfer when his contract at Lille runs out in the summer.

Ben Chilwell could be heading to Juventus on loan in January, reports the Daily Mail. The Chelsea defender, 27, has been short of action since the arrival of manager Enzo Maresca.

Arsenal are in talks over a new contract with Leandro Trossard. The Daily Mail also says the deal would mean a major pay increase for the 29-year-old Belgium forward.

Newcastle are unlikely to renew their interest in Crystal Palace’s England defender Marc Guehi, 24, in January. The Times reports the expected return of Dutch defender Sven Botman from injury will rule out the need for the move.
