PICTURES: Crowds gather as Clara celebrates St. Patrick's Day in style

Crowds turned out in force for a memorable St Patrick's Day parade in Clara

Huge crowds gathered in Clara to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a memorable parade on Tuesday afternoon.

Ireland's oldest man, 104-year-old Paddy Claffey was the parade's Grand Marshall and RTE camera crews were on hand to record the historic occasion.

Bertie McMahon, who is the main organiser of the annual St Patrick's Day parade in Clara also celebrated a momentous milestone marking 50 years of organising parades locally.

Clara was one of several parades to be celebrated in Offaly on Tuesday as thousands of spectators thronged the streets in towns and villages across the Faithful county to commemorate St. Patrick's Day.
